Description
This is a lot of 1920’s or older vintage glass sew-ons or nailheads in transparent emerald green. The top-side is heavily faceted , which makes them look like tiny honeycombs or disco balls.
They’re mounted on a translucent white base and they have 2 parallel holes. They measure approximately 7mm round and have flat backs. I’ve been told that this bead style is the predecessor to “rose montees”.
Most of these beads do show their age via color fading at the center, as well as some oxidization. Personally, I think it is a very cool effect — think steampunk, shabby chic or beetle wings.
Size = 7 mm
