These vintage glass cabochons were manufactured in West Germany, from the 1950’s through the 1970’s. They’re good sized, at 15×50 mm, and they feature an elegant marquise shape. The color is metallic pewter over a black base, and the design is a simple floral pattern with waves or ribbons at the center. The metallic finish shows very minor scratching or fading on some stones if you look very closely, but overall, they’re in good vintage condition. These stones are unusual and absolutely gorgeous.
They measure about 4mm tall from the back of the stone to the front. The back sides of the stone are flat and unfoiled, and the color is a solid black. These are flat backed cabochons, suited for gluing, mounting or bezeling; they are not beads and they do not have holes.
